My Journey to Shine: More Than Just Detailing?

You might wonder how I found my passion for making cars sparkle. Like many, my path wasn't always clear, but it led me exactly where I was meant to be.

Life got chaotic, and I found an unexpected calm detailing my car late at night, making it shine even under the moonlight. This was a stark contrast to my demanding job at a retirement home during my teen years. While it funded my education, it also increasingly got in the way. As I took on more responsibility, my pay stayed flat. I realized I was prioritizing a job that didn't value my work over my schooling, so I made the tough decision to leave.

The next job i got, started at 3:00 AM and it was an hour and a half drive away. The only "benefit" to working there was being closer to school. My schedule became work, sleep in my car until I had to attend class, then go home to repeat. It was unsustainable. One day, after staying up all day for a friend's emergency, I nearly fell asleep driving to work. That was my turning point. I put in my two weeks' notice.

With newfound free time, I finally noticed my car. It was a mess. I'd neglected washing it, and after practically living in it for school, the interior was just as bad. I hated the thought of an automatic car wash damaging the paint on the car I genuinely loved, so I bought products and decided to wash it myself.

That's when I discovered that there was a difference between washing a car and detailing it. Countless hours went into researching and applying techniques until I was truly satisfied with the results. I'd be out detailing my car even before sunrise, getting plenty of practice thanks to living next to a big dirt field!

As my savings dwindled and job prospects seemed bleak, I had about a month before running out of funds. I knew finding a job that worked with my school schedule was unlikely. I brainstormed ideas: teach music (not good enough), sell art (I don't think people want to buy stick figure drawings), build websites (coding wasn't my thing). Then it hit me: detailing cars!

I knew quality detailers were a rarity. Many of them cut corners—not cleaning under floor mats, skipping car seat rail lubrication, using dirty towels and brushes. I was confident I could provide truly high-quality services because my love for making a car shine fueled a meticulous dedication that others lacked.

In that critical month, I took out every penny from my retirement account and invested it in the business. It was a leap of faith, but it allowed me to officially launch AMF Luxe Detail. Now I'm incredibly grateful for my amazing clients who now recognize AMF Luxe Detail for its meticulous work and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction.
